Christmas is just around the corner which means it’s that time of year when you want to feel utterly glamorous.
If you’re stuck for makeup inspiration, makeup themed gift ideas or need a boost of confidence to try something new, you’re in luck.
We sat down with Lash Unlimited’s founder Lindsey Kane, to get her advice on the best makeup products to use in winter...
Lindsey says: “Baume de Rose is one of By Terry’s most iconic products. It also happens to be one of my favourite products of all time. It’s filled with rose flower essential wax and pastel oil, conditioning shea butter, antioxidant vitamin E, SPF 15 and strengthening ceramides - it’s just so nourishing. Perfect for Christmas party season when I’m wearing more lip products than usual.”
Lindsey says: “In winter our skin gets drier, so it’s important to stick to cream-based products to help keep skin looking dewy and glowy. One of my favourite blush brands is NARS who carry a fab selection of cream blush shades.”
Lindsey says: “Hmm… I almost didn’t want to include this one as it’s one of my best kept secrets. But as a former makeup artist, I’m all about sharing the good stuff. I love the shades and rich pigments of Hourglass lipstick for creating a dramatic evening look. And if you’re interested in switching to products with less packaging, it’s refillable too!”
Lindsey says: “This is more of a tip than a product recommendation, but it’s so important. Even though the nights are getting longer, it's still vital to protect your skin with SPF to maintain a smoother, healthier look. My favourite is by Nimue Skin”.
Lindsey says: “I like a warm, subtle colour in winter and this tan water is incredible. I spray after I apply my moisturiser at night and sometimes in the morning before my foundation. It gives a really natural colour which I love!”
And a festive makeup look that anyone can achieve…
When you’ve got the work Christmas do, four nights out with the squad and a couple of weddings for good measure, you need a go-to look makeup look you can always rely on. Lindsey has an awesome tip for this too.
She says: “Forget a complicated smokey eye or fiddly eyeliner, I think the easiest festive party makeup look to achieve is a bright eye shadow with fluttery false lashes such as our No.7 lashes. And if you want to amp things up, add a couple of subtle face gems. Sorted.”
